FINALISTS OF THE “best musical mind” competition selected

Multikultivator – Service for Culture and Arts Development is proud to announce that after listening to submited works from musical talents from Europe, North America and Near East, with care and dedication, the international panel of judges has made the selection of the finalists of The Best Musical Mind competition. Finals will feature 44 acts in 5 categories.

We would like to thank all the participants for the interest in our program and we appreciate time and effort they invested to apply for The Best Musical Mind competition. May this outcome not discourage applicants who did not make it to the finals, but motivate them to keep on growing and nurturing their musicianship. As per finalists, we wish you a successful performance in Belgrade!

The contest was open to contemporary musicians from all countries, age 16 to 27, aiming for variety of contemporary music genres. Applicants (individuals and ensembles) were allowed and encouraged to apply for one or more of the following categories: Best Vocalist, Best Instrumentalist, Best Original Composition, Best Arrangement, and Best Ensemble.The selected finalists will be invited to perform live at the Final Round on April 2nd – 3rd in Belgrade in front the audience and respected panel of the judges: Casey Driessen, a Director of the Contemporary Performance (Production Concentration) Master’s program at “Berklee college of music”, Valencia, Lupa Santiago, Guitarist, Composer and Vice Director of “Conservatorio Souza Lima”, Sao Paulo, Ivana Kotov, Vocalist, Composer and Lecturer, “Berklee college of music” Alumna. Competition director is Serbian-born, New York City based Aleksandra Denda, Singer-songwriter and Music Educator.

In Collaboration with our partners we have secured valuable prizes: The first 4 categories (Best Vocalist, Best Instrumentalist, Best Original Composition and Best Arrangement) will be awarded the following prizes in each category: 1st Prize: 2016 Berklee College of Music Summer Performance Program in Boston, USA (5 weeks) / Berklee Valencia, Spain (2 weeks), 2nd Prize: 2016 Souza Lima Musica Brasileira & Jazz, 1-week Program in Sao Paulo, Brazil, 3rd Prize: 2016 Multiversity Summer Camp in Belgrade, Serbia.

The Best Ensemble Category will be awarded with the recording, production and publishing of an Album, EP and a Single, respectively.

All awards and prizes will be awarded unless there is an insufficient number of eligible participants in a particular category or the judges determine that the quality of the competitor’s performance does not warrant a prize/award.

Prizes and awards are non-assignable / non-transferable.

After panel of judges selects the winners, prizes will be presented at the conclusion of the Final Round in Belgrade, Serbia.

Winners must be present during the Awards Ceremony to receive awards.
